Alexander County has launched a new public input survey and invites residents, businesses, and members of nearby communities to provide feedback on the county’s new branding project. The 10-minute survey can be accessed at brandingalexandercounty.com and will remain open for responses until early October.
“Our goal with this project is to create a compelling, authentic narrative for the county to help us reach our goals for community engagement and development,” said Marty Pennell, Chairman of the Alexander County Board of Commissioners. “For this to be successful, we’re looking for participation from the local community to share what they think about our county.”
Alexander County recently hired HAVEN Creative, a communications and marketing agency, to lead its branding initiative. HAVEN has 10 years of community branding experience for towns, counties, and community development projects. The agency was chosen after a thorough review in a public request for proposal process.
The project, which kicked off in early August, will help strengthen the county’s community engagement while positioning itself as a destination in the region. The initial brand identity development will take six months and start with an extensive discovery process, led by HAVEN Creative.
“This project is all about uncovering what’s already here in Alexander County,” said Ian Redman, HAVEN Creative’s Strategy Director. “Our goal is to hear from as many residents, business owners, and visitors as possible. This branding project is an opportunity for them to say, ‘this is who we are and who we want to be.’ That’s not possible without community input.”
As part of this discovery process, HAVEN has met with local leaders in person, toured parts of the county, and launched a series of surveys. This public survey was developed using initial survey results and feedback from conversations with county staff, elected officials, public safety officials, and community members.
“We believe this process is critical to creating the best possible brand for Alexander County,” said Gary Herman, Alexander County Public Information Officer. “We encourage everyone to make sure their voice is heard.”
