Position: Social Worker III CPS/APS On-Call (after hours)
Salary Range: $38,420.45 – $54,287.09 Salary Grade: 70

Description of Work: The primary purpose of this position is to be the portal of entry for Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services reports during non-office hours (nights, weekends, holidays, adverse weather, etc.) to complete the two-tier screening process with the assigned Social Work Supervisor to determine assignment status. Additionally, this position is responsible for responding to accepted referrals of abuse, neglect and/or dependency according to policy and standards to assure that alleged victims are protected from harm and/or exploitation. This activity requires direct client contact and case assessment initiation, which requires the utilization of State Family Assessment tools and case management and documentation responsibilities. This position also requires the Social Worker to carry a partial caseload of ongoing Investigation/Family Assessments which were taken and initiated while on-call, away from normal business hours.
Education and Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or Master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative.
Experience Preferred: North Carolina Child Welfare Experience.
