Position: Social Worker III 2nd Shift
Salary Range: $37,482.92 – $52,962.38 Salary Grade: 69
Fully Qualified Starting Salary: $39,380.49

Description of Work: Position will manage a multi-disciplinary (investigative/assessments initiation for adults protective services, Initiation for child welfare assessment/investigation- in-home services/foster care/ contact visits, CPS preventive outreach, and adult services outreach). Position is charged with initiation of investigative assessments as per rule/law/policy, engaging the family/caregivers through process when appropriate, reviewing case plans, completing risk assessments, strengths & needs assessments, meeting mandated contact standards (announced and unannounced home visits), and completing home studies. Position promotes the family as a key player in their own solution, inviting them to participate in contacts with professionals, school, physicians, etc., and working WITH them to resolve safety issues and address well-being needs. Position must demonstrate high-level knowledge and good judgment. This position will also focus on completing inter-county assist requests, in depth home studies, Conflict of Interest case initiations, child welfare outreach (focus on preventative and voluntary services) as well as Adult Services outreach.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday as the typical days off each week. There will be an opportunity for flexibility for this employee to choose work days and work hours, as long as the hours worked each day equal 8 hours – no more than 40 hours per week/unless circumstances dictate that the employee work over, in which case they will earn compensatory time if approved by the supervisor. An example work schedule would be from 1:00pm – 10:00pm allowing an hour for mealtime.
Education and Experience: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master’s degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience. One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative for Child Welfare positions.
Experience Preferred: Completion of North Carolina Child Welfare Pre-service training.
