The Alexander County Fire Marshal’s Office was awarded a $2,095 grant from FM Global. On July 11, emergency services staff was presented a plaque recognizing the grant award by Betsy White, Engineering Specialist with FM Global.
Fire Marshal Mark Earle said the grant, which requires no local matching funds, is being used to purchase fire investigation equipment including hand tools, battery-operated equipment, measuring devices, and flagging material.
“We plan to utilize this equipment to better determine the origin and causes of fires, which will help educate the public and prevent future fires,” Earle stated.
