ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (April 29, 2020) – Duke Energy officials donated personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies to Alexander County Emergency Management on Thursday, April 23. Items donated include 300 KN-95 respirators (masks) and six gallons of hand sanitizer.
According to Mark Howell, Emergency Management Planner and Public Health Preparedness Coordinator, the supplies are being distributed to local first responders, social services staff, and other front-line workers in Alexander County.
“These donations are greatly appreciated and are helping us to protect our staff and flatten the COVID-19 curve while still providing essential services to our citizens,” Howell stated.
While thankful to Duke Energy in general, Howell wished to express appreciation to Duke employees Robin Nicholson, Government and Community Relations District Manager, and Wayne Huddleston, Account Executive.
