ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (April 15, 2020) — Nationwide, there has been a shortage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, Alexander County Emergency Services received two shipments of miscellaneous PPE from North Carolina Emergency Management on Thursday and Friday, April 9-10.
Doug Gillispie, Alexander County Director of Public Services, was on hand to help unload the valuable safety supplies, which will be used by county EMS, emergency management, law enforcement personnel, and local healthcare workers.
“We are very appreciative for receiving these two shipments of PPE,” Gillispie stated. “This equipment helps us ensure the safety of our employees, which is our top priority.”
