POSITION: Administrative Specialist – Part Time
SALARY RANGE: $15.16 per hour
POSTING DATES: August 6, 2018 – August 17, 2018
Description of Work: An employee in this class performs paraprofessional accounting work by processing purchase orders, assisting with the processing of accounts payable, and serving as backup for payroll data entry. In addition, the employee will greet visitors, answer incoming calls to the finance office, and perform the general secretarial functions of the Finance Department. Considerable attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy of various figures and data. Work is performed under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, and is evaluated through conferences, observation and review of work generated. Hours for this position is Monday through Friday, 12:00 noon – 3:30 pm each day.
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school with at least three years of experience in an administrative office position and at least one year of experience in payroll processing is required. Completion of an associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, office management or related area; and at least two years of experience in general accounting and payroll processing is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
