Position:Animal Care Technician (Part-Time Position)
Salary Range:$9.72/hour(Grade 53)

Description of Work: This is a part-time position with no benefits working on a flexible schedule with weekend and holiday work required. Position will assist with the care of the animals in the Animal Control Shelter. Duties include feeding animals, doing laundry, moving animals from one enclosure to another, cleaning and disinfecting kennels by following specific protocols, washing food and water bowls, cleaning litter pans, and assisting the shelter veterinarian with vaccinations, de-worming, and euthanasia of animals. Lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously required.
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or GED is required. Strongly prefer someone with experience in a kennel setting or a veterinary hospital. Applicants should understand that most of the animals in the shelter are poorly socialized with little or no training. Successful applicant must be extremely compassionate, patient and understanding in dealing with animals.
