Proposals are being solicited by Alexander County for engineering services related to planning, design, bidding, permitting, and construction administration for improvements to the sewer collection system in the Bethlehem Community of Alexander County. The proposed project includes construction of approximately 21,000 linear feet of 8-inch through 15-inch gravity sewer lines, approximately 10,000 linear feet of sewer force mains, improvements to the existing Wittenburg Springs pump station and a new sewer pumping station, to be funded by a loan from the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure.
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GUIDELINES FOR SOLICITING PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, ALEXANDER COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA (OWNER) HEREBY REQUESTS QUALIFICATIONS FROM QUALIFIED FIRMS OR INDIVIDUALS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES AS STATED BELOW.

The contract will be negotiated with the firm who is responsive and responsible and whose proposal best meets the expectations of the OWNER based on the findings from the review committee. Should the OWNER not be able to negotiate an acceptable contract with the selected firm, negotiations will begin with the second ranked firm.
Four (4) copies of the engineering qualifications shall be submitted by the appointed date noted above. Qualifications will be reviewed by the Owner. Questions regarding this RFQ should be directed to: Rick French at (828) 632-9332 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The proposal must contain each of the following components in a basic outline format:
1) TECHNICAL: Describe the overall project approach to be taken to provide an outline of each task to be undertaken. Detailed information regarding tasks is preferred, but optional.
2) MANAGEMENT: Describe the internal management plan to be used, including staff and professional personnel assignments. Be sure to note who at your firm will be assigned to this project.
3) PRIOR RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: Describe or list firm’s experience with projects similar to this one. Please provide reference contact information including telephone numbers and individual names of key persons representing current and previous clientele.
4) LOGISTICS: Proposals will be evaluated based on proximity to Alexander County, to determine the firm’s ability to have key team members respond appropriately to issues that may require on-site assessments.
